Mackenzie Valley Pipeline Inquiry - The Mackenzie Valley Pipeline Inquiry was commissioned by the Government of Canada in 1974 to investigate the social, environmental, and economic impact regionally of a proposed oil pipeline that would run through the Yukon and the Mackenzie Valley of the Northwest Territories. This proposed pipeline became known as the Mackenzie Valley Pipeline.
James Stuart-Wortley-Mackenzie, 1st Baron Wharncliffe - James Archibald Stuart-Wortley-Mackenzie, 1st Baron Wharncliffe (1776-1845), English statesman, was the son of Colonel Stuart, son of the John Stuart, 3rd Earl of Bute and of his wife Mary Wortley-Montagu (Baroness Mountstuart in her own right), as whose heir Colonel Stuart added the name of Wortley, taking later also that of Mackenzie (which his son in later life discarded) as heir to his uncle JS Mackenzie of Rosehaugh.
Alexander Mackenzie (musician) - Sir Alexander Campell Mackenzie was a British composer, son of an eminent Edinburgh violinist and conductor, was born on the 22nd of August 1847. On the advice of a member of Gungls band who had taken up his residence in Edinburgh, Mackenzie was sent for his musical education to Sondershausen, where he entered the conservatorium under Ulrich and Stein, remaining there from 1857 to 1861, when he entered the ducal orchestra as a violinist.
