It should be noted that while "Heavy Metal" and "Metal" are often used interchangeably to refer to the entire genre, this page deals with the sub-genre of Metal music (otherwise known as Classic Metal or Traditional Metal) that includes bands like Black Sabbath and Judas Priest.
