Christian views of Jesus - Christian views of Jesus vary somewhat between different Christian denominations, but almost all Christians base their beliefs around what they hold to be Jesus' teachings, and believe that Jesus is the Christ (Messiah), the saviour of mankind foretold in the Old Testament. Most further believe him to be the son of God, and the incarnation of God himself.
Historicity of Jesus/Temp - The existence of Jesus, known by Christians as Jesus Christ (Jesus the Messiah), is accepted by the followers of three world religions, Christianity, Judaism and Islam, on the basis of their respective scriptures - the Bible, the Torah and the Qur'an. They differ in that Christianity considers Jesus to be the Son of God, whilst Islam and Judaism sees him as a prophet and teacher.
Resurrection of Jesus - According to the New Testament, Jesus was both human and God, so he had the power to lay his life down and to take it up again; thus after Jesus died, he came to life. This event is referred to in Christian terminology as the resurrection of Jesus Christ, and is commemorated and celebrated by most Christians annualy on Easter Sunday.
Jesus Prayer - The Jesus Prayer, also called the Prayer of the Heart by some Church Fathers, is a short, simple prayer that has been widely used, taught and discussed throughout the history of Eastern Christianity. The exact words of the prayer have varied from a simple form such as "Lord, have mercy" to the more common extended form: "Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, the sinner.
